Claire began her hairdressing career aged 16. After qualifying to Advanced Level she opened her first Salon in 1986 aged just 20yrs. Claire’s eye for detail and high standards of work quickly gained the company a good reputation & 7 years later, after building a successful business Claire was persuaded to teach part-time at college. As well as maintaining her love of salon life Claire enjoyed teaching and became Head of Hair and Beauty at RFDC College. After 5 successful years in this role Claire returned to the salon Full-time to fulfil her passion for all things Hairdressing.

In 1998, together with business partner Jacqui Jaynes, Claire opened Reds Hair Company. The ethos behind Reds was to become the destination Salon of the area. A place which is professional yet friendly, has exceptional standards of hairdressing and where great customer service is key, wanting  Reds’ clients to feel special from the moment they arrive into the large airy reception; throughout their journey and leave not only looking fabulous but also feeling happy and relaxed.

After 12 successful years Jacqui retired and in 2011 Claire took over the reins completely, she has ensured that standards are maintained and that the salon has a fresh up to date look.

Claire is very proud of the reputation that Reds has, she is particularly proud that she has personally trained every member of her team, from Apprentice through to Salon Director. Education within the Salon is key to maintaining and developing future talent, Claire’s vast experience in teaching and training has led to Reds being nationally recognised as an Independent Training Centre. The unique in- house training programme ensures that Reds’ Apprentices have a thorough education, resulting in Level 3 qualification and very high standards and ability.  Throughout the years Claire has maintained her passion for her work, particularly relishing the creative aspect of the hairdressing. She has enjoyed many competition successes, winning both Nationally and Internationally. She retired from competitions in 2002 after winning a Bronze Medal in the World Championships in Las Vegas but has remained very involved in training of future European and World Champions and plays a key part in the development of the Reds Artistic Team.

Claire’s wide ranging talents and skills have led to her developing a loyal, long standing and unrivalled client base of women who appreciate her eye for detail and her understanding of what makes a great haircut. Such is the demand for Claire’s vastly experienced eye that there can be a 3 week wait for appointments.  Being able to use either a razor or scissors, both with great skill, she has the ability to create the perfect texturised , short edgy haircut  which has become Claire’s trademark. Specialising in precision bobs, both classic and contemporary, Claire manages to personalise the haircut, resulting in a great look that is also easy for the client to manage in between visits. Having had so many years experience in colouring, Claire also enjoys doing colour change, whether radical or subtle she manages to combine client wishes with her own input, and therefore achieving the perfect result.

Linzi Weare
Salon Director & Premier Technician

Linzi comes from a Hairdressing Background, and after competing in her first hairdressing competition aged 12yrs she grew up with an unsurpassed passion for hairdressing, she joined Reds Hair Company at 18, after completing her A levels. Linzi immediately underwent Reds in-house training programme, gaining NVQ levels 2 and 3, her determination and ambition have enabled her to work up through the tiers quickly, gaining the respect of her peers and clients alike. Committed and dedicated to the company’s training ethos, Linzi has since taken responsibility for the training of the apprentices within the Reds Hair Company team; mentoring and nurturing our young talent and ensuring the company’s high level of expertise will continue for future generations.

Linzi is a key member of Reds Artistic team. She has been heavily involved in competition work for many years. She has previously been Junior and Senior National Hairdressing Federation Champion as well as winning many other competitions such as Bridal and Fashion Colour titles. In 2009, Linzi made her International debut in Canada at the WorldSkills Competition.  She then went onto win the EuroSkills Gold Medal in Portugal and topped off an amazing 2010 by winning the Gold Medal at the OMC World Championships in Paris and taking the title of World Champion.

Linzi has remained committed to competition work and has taught in China and Russia as well as being in demand all over the UK to train future Champions. Since February 2016, Linzi has taken on the national and international role of World Skills UK Hairdressing expert. She is training manager of the UK competition squad and will be taking a competitor to Abu Dhabi in October 2017 to compete in WorldSkills International. Her passion for everything artistic in hair and beauty is evident in her photographic work which has also enjoyed much success in the competition world.
Linzi’s exemplary record of customer satisfaction is testament to her hair philosophy of making people look and feel fantastic. Her wide-ranging talents and skills have led to her developing a loyal, long-standing and unrivalled client base of women, men and children of all ages who appreciate her diverse and all-encompassing hairdressing approach. Her attention to detail and eye for the perfect finish manages to cross every age divide, ensuring she is a firm favourite. Linzi is renowned at Reds for her sharp precision Bobs and short choppy haircuts, both classic and contemporary.

Linzi’s love of competition work has enabled her to achieve a high level of colour expertise. Assured and confident in her colour knowledge she understands exactly what her clients want and consistently achieves great results. She particularly likes fashion placement colouring and is great at balayage and ombre looks.
With Linzi’s passion to make the client feel and look their best, she chose to train in Semi permanent make-up (cosmetic tattooing) with Finishing Touches and qualified in April 2016. This includes: eyebrows, eyeliner and lips. It has been really popular with clients of all ages and needs, from early 20’s to 70’s. Linzi particularly enjoys giving someone new natural looking eyebrows as it frames their face and can often make them look younger.

Lois Tippins
Senior Stylist

After always dreaming of becoming a hairdresser Lois joined the Reds In-house Training Programme in 2006. She completed her NVQ levels 2 and 3 in 2009 and worked her way up to become a Senior Stylist at Reds in 2012. Lois is a key member of the Reds Artistic team, enjoying success for both Competition and Photographic work and currently coordinates the education and training programme for all of the Reds Team.

Lois enjoys all aspects of cutting and styling and her friendly and approachable manner has earned her a loyal client base. She ensures she carries out an in depth consultation with each client before their treatment, therefore leaving them with a hairstyle that both looks and feels great but more importantly something that they can recreate at home. Lois has an instinctive ability to ‘get it just right’ and this is shown by her busy column.

She pays great attention to detail, her cutting is very precise and she will take her time to ensure the client is 100% happy with the result. Lois particularly likes cutting and curling long hair as well as long Hair Up and Bridal work, again paying particular detail to listening to exactly what the clients’ wishes are.  Lois’s diverse ability for all things hair related means that she is in demand; her gentle, understanding manner ensures she is one of the favourites for our shyer or quieter clients

Lois understands how important it is for the clients’ hair and scalp to be in the best condition possible, therefore, she is able to advise on how to maintain healthy hair and scalp using a variety of different products. Lois has participated in the Nioxin training program and understands how Nioxin can vastly improve the appearance of fine/thinning hair, and clients suffering from temporary hair loss.

Hannah Clague
Stylist & Colour Specialist

Hannah began hairdressing when she joined the Reds Training Programme as an apprentice in 2007 and soon qualified to NVQ Levels 2&3. Since then she has worked her way up through the ranks to be Technical Director at Reds. She has worked through the L’Oreal Colour Keys qualification levels to achieve a Distinction in the L’Oreal Specialist Degree, the highest colour qualification available.Hannah has the responsibility of teaching colour to the apprentices within the company, a role that she enjoys immensely.

Hannah is a dedicated member of Reds Artistic Team and as well as gaining formal qualifications she has gained significant experience and professional acclaim whilst competing in competitions at National, European, and World levels. In 2016 year she won the L'Oreal Colour Trophy star award for the Midlands and is now part of the Colour Academy team for the forthcoming year. Some of her other most notable achievements include winning double Gold Medals in Euroskills Belgium 2012, NHF British Ladies Hairdresser of the Year as well as a Medallion of Excellence in WorldSkills Leipzig 2013. Hannah continues to compete as well as passing on her knowledge to future champions of the Reds team.

Hannah has an overwhelming passion for colour and looks at all clients as individuals. She strives to create the ultimate bespoke colour for individuals that will uniquely enhance hair’s health and youthfulness, whilst complementing skin tone, eye colour and personal colour palette. Hannah’s ethos is that your hair is your ultimate everyday accessory and its colour has to be perfectly tailored to suit you.  Passionate about her department, Hannah is both forward thinking and motivated to lead the way in colour and technical innovations within the salon.

Emma Hodges
Stylist & Senior Technician

Emma joined Reds in 2009 whilst still at school; she then joined the team full time to pursue her career in hairdressing. Having flew through her NVQ Levels 2 and 3 Emma quickly established herself as a key player on the salon floor.

Success in both national and international competitions has enabled Emma to build the skills, experience and confidence she needs to ensure her work is of a consistently high standard. 

Emma took a short career break in 2014 to start a family; she then re-joined the team on a part time basis and works on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Emma is always bright and smiling, her chatty nature ensures that all of her clients feel relaxed and enjoy not just great hair, but the whole experience.

Emma enjoys all aspects of hairdressing, she particularly likes cutting and blow drying and her long hair work is outstanding.  Such is the high standard of her work that Emma has built a clientele that ensures she is in great demand.

Chloe Heath-Byard
Stylist & Senior Technician

Chloe joined the Reds Hair Company Team July 2012 at 16, straight from school. Chloe had shown her passion for hairdressing early on as she did a level 1 qualification whilst still studying at school along with a Saturday job in the salon.

Chloe has thrown herself into the Reds artistic team with great enthusiasm both as a model and as a competitor for competitions. In Chloe’s time at Reds so far, she has won many national hairdressing competitions such as Bridal & fashion blow-dry categories. Chloe was awarded a Silver Medal in UK Skills November 2013 held at the NEC Birmingham which led her to a place at squad selection for World Skills Brazil, a fantastic achievement for her age. This year Chloe won the L'Oreal Colour Trophy star award for the Midlands and is now part of the Colour Academy team for the forthcoming year.

Chloe has completed her NVQ level 3 with flying colours. She is steadily building up a loyal clientele and is definitely one to watch in the future, with such competitive pricing and a quiet creative ability. Chloe has matured significantly over her time at Reds, growing from a quiet little mouse, into confident and talented young women.

Chloe has also completed a L’Oreal Colour Keys course, Moroccan Oil and Nioxin training.

Alice Sleeman
Graduate Stylist & Technician

After completing her first year of training at a Lydney based salon Alice joined the Reds Team in September 2013. She has demonstrated maturity and commitment and has progressed very well, both on and off the salon floor, clients and staff a like love Alice’s quiet, yet confident manner. 

Alice qualified at level 3 in March 2016 and has excelled so far building her cliental. She loves all aspects of colouring and cutting but as she is very into fashion and likes to keep up to date on the new trends which come into the salon during different seasons, this makes her have a great passion for colouring.

Alice also has a particular passion for long hair work; both putting long hair up and hair extensions.  Fully qualified in Micro Loop Hair Extensions Alice’s talent lies in getting the consultation exactly right, ensuring perfect colour match and that the end result is natural and perfect for the client.

Alice is very much enjoying her job role and developing her client base, she is proving to be very popular and gaining a high level of return clients

Kelly Bishop
Graduate Stylist & Technician

Despite living in Bristol and having over 2 hours commute each day, Kelly was determined to join Reds Training Programme as an Apprentice and began in January 2014.  Kelly has progressed very well, her enthusiasm and dedication has paid off and she has developed a strong work ethic and excellent customer care skills.  Mature beyond her years Kelly has settled into the Reds family extremely well, she has made a positive impact and has recently joined the Artistic Team. Winning several competitions Kelly has grown in confidence and her natural flair shows in the excellent standard of work she produces. Kelly won Gold at the World Skills UK National final in 2014 and 2015.

Having passed her NVQ Level 3 with flying colours, Kelly has a particular interest in all aspects of cutting and styling. Through her competition work Kelly also has a special talent for hair up and her bridal and prom work is exceptional.  Kelly is the colour bleed specialist at Reds following bespoke training from award winning hairdresser Sophia Hilton.

Lia Tippins
Apprentice Stylist & Apprentice Technician

Lia left school in 2009 and began her hairdressing training, however she decided to change career paths and it wasn't until 2014 she returned to her first love and joined the Reds Training Programme. Lia has qualified to Level 3 and is very much looking forward to adding to her growing client lists.

Lia is passionate about her career and is very happy to work within the large, young team at Reds. Lia is planning to follow her sister Lois into becoming a Senior Stylist /Technician at Reds.

Although Lia is very interested in all aspects of hairdressing she has a particular passion for colouring. She has always taken great interest in fashion and the latest hair and beauty trends. She particularly loves to specialise in freehand techniques, giving a subtly blended balayage look or a colour with an extreme twist, either way she can work wonders.
Daisy Biggin

After spending one day a week at the salon whilst she was at school, Daisy began her apprenticeship in September 2015 and has worked well so far. Daisy is very much looking forward to progressing through her training and learning new skills.

Daisy enjoys competition work, with outstanding success at the Blackpool Championships. Daisy is currently training for UK Skills Competitions during 2017 and is ambitious to become part of Squad UK in the future.

Daisy also enjoys modelling for competitons for others within the salon, recently modelling for Chloe who won the L’oreal Colour Star Award for the Midlands.
Ebony Burrows
Ebony began her hairdressing apprenticeship at Reds in 2017. She has settled in well at Reds with both staff members and clients. Ebony takes any opportunity she can to learn from the wealth of talent and experience of the Reds team, which has lead to her progressing well in her apprenticeship.
Ebony is showing a particular affinity to colouring.
Ebony enjoys modelling for competitions for others within the salon,  modelling for the Reds team at the Loreal Colour Trophy Grand Final in 2018.
Ebony also enjoys modelling and has enjoyed much success in this role. Whilst modelling for Kelly and Lia she won the regional heat of L’Oreal Colour Trophy Award in 2017 and went onto represent Reds at the Grand Final.
Layla Ballinger
Layla joined Reds as an apprentice in October 2017. Her natural talent for hairdressing along with her dedication for training has resulted in Layla becoming a key member of the team. Layla’s friendly personality along with her attention to detail ensures clients are relaxed from the moment they arrive.

Layla has great enthusiasm for competition and thrives under the pressure, achieving Gold at UKSkills in Nov 2018. She hopes to continue this success in the future and work towards becoming part of the squad for The UK Skills Team. Layla is really enjoying all the new skills she’s gaining and is looking forward to progressing into a fulfilling hairdressing career
Izzy Ede

Izzy has always had an interest in hairdressing, this was confirmed following work experience in a salon. Izzy is now looking to broaden her knowledge and skills. Izzy has already demonstrated a flair for hairdressing and particularly
Chloe Olivia Prince

Chloe is one of our most recent recruits joining Reds as an apprentice in Sept 2018. Chloe is known as Chloe O so not to get her confused with our stylist Chloe.

Chloe is progressing very well and enjoying her role.
Gavin Kyte
Mens Senior Stylist
Gavin joined Reds as first year Apprentice in June 2013 straight from school. He quickly became a firm favourite with clients of all ages. He has progressed very well in all aspects of hairdressing; however he soon developed a specific interest in cutting men’s hair. Gavin has received specialist one to one men’s hairdressing training with Gary Pearce, a renowned International and National medallist which has led to him concentrating on men’s hairdressing.

As a result of Gav’s enthusiasm and dedication to training he is now the Senior Barber at Reds. He has quickly built up a strong clientele who appreciate his sharp cuts and precision scissor over comb work. His fun personality has ensured that his younger clientele enjoy their visits and he ensures that all of his clients are made to feel welcome, even enjoying a cheeky beer.

Gavin achieved a Bronze medal in Hairdressing, representing the UK at Euroskills 2018 in Budapest, and is working towards a place to represent the UK at Worldskills 2019 in Kazan, Russia.

Holly-Mae Cotterall
Beauty Therapist

On completion of her Level 2 in Beauty Therapy, Holly joined Reds in March 2016. She qualified to Level 3 recently and she has since built a strong client list.

Holly is very polite and friendly; she takes pride in her appearance and likes to help people take pride in theirs. Offering the full range of Treatments that Reds has to offer, Holly has quickly become a key member of the team, her sunny personality and easy going friendly manner has proved a hit with clients of all ages.

Holly enjoys all aspects of beauty however she has a real flare for makeup. Her makeup application can go from a delicate subtle look to a dramatic, creative style.She works with each client’s individual style and loves to create the perfect look for each person.

Holly's passion for all things nails is evident in the great results she achieves using the Bio-Sculpture range of products. She does a beautiful gel overlay manicure which lasts 2-4 weeks or how about a relaxing deluxe manicure, tidying up the nails and enhancing the nails natural beauty including a stimulating hand and arm massage. Holly can make you feel amazing in all aspects of the beauty treatments we offer here at Reds to ensure you are happy with the outcome of the treatment.

Holly won a Gold Medal in the WorldSkills UK regional heat in Beauty Therapy. Holly’s worked extremely hard and this paid off when she went on to win a Gold Medal at the WorldSkills UK Final, held at the NEC Birmingham, showcasing her manicure, makeup and facial work
Lorna Clague
Beauty Therapy

Lorna joined Reds in 2018. Lorna has settled into the salon perfectly and is a great therapist to complete and compliment the Beauty Team at Reds. Much loved by clients and staff alike, Lorna takes the time to listen and expertly assess clients individual needs. Lorna’s attention to detail ensure her definition eyebrows are to the highest standard. She gets immense satisfaction from her work and knowing her clients are happy with her knowledge, advice and the all-important end result. Lorna is a service natural and has the unique gift of delivering a relaxed, yet precision treatment which is second to none. She is qualified to a high standard and will always be happy to advise on all aspects of beauty therapy ,with impressive product knowledge.

Whilst able to offer all the normal beauty services, She particularly enjoys skin-care treatments. Alongside the Crystal Clear Skin Care Range and Microdermabrasion, Lorna’s experience is well placed to advise her clients on the best possible route to perfect skin.

Lisa Perry
Lisa joined the Reds team as a receptionist in 2010, this role quickly evolved to include responsibility for pay-roll, accounting and administration within the company to ensure a smooth running business throughout.

A Receptionist is the customer’s first point of contact at the salon and Lisa is committed to ensuring that the client is made to feel welcomed and treated in a friendly manner.  Lisa’s mission is to make booking an appointment as easy as possible; she is able to recommend the right stylist, technician and therapist for the client by gaining a good understanding of their needs. Her warm, calm and sincere approach to customer service is happily received by clients, and with the ability to ensure every aspect of her role is carried out precisely and without fuss makes Lisa a valued and key member of the team
Lucy James
Lucy joined the Reds team in 2017 as part time receptionist sharing the role with Lisa and Jamie. She enjoys welcoming our clients and has quickly become an integral part of our front of house team. Lucy’s welcoming and lively nature has ensured she is liked by both clients and staff.
